How to choose your condoms?

The condom is the most effective solution to protect against STDs and STIs. That's why, if you're under 26, you can get condoms from the pharmacy for free and without a prescription. However, there is a good chance that these "standard" condoms may not be the best fit for you. We recommend choosing yours carefully, based on the size and sensitivity of your penis. Here's how to choose your condoms, to combine comfort and safety.

The composition 🧪

In the condom section, we often turn to latex first. However, this material is rather thick and can dull sensations during intercourse. Additionally, it is quite odorous and can cause allergies in some people. We suggest you consider:

  • The polyurethane condom: ultra-thin, odorless, and more resistant than latex
  • The sensoprene condom: not as thin as the polyurethane condom, but more comfortable

The size 📏

The better the fit of the condom, the more comfortable it will be. Note that to be effective, the condom must cover the entire penis. We invite you to take your measurements and choose the appropriate size, without worrying about the labels S, M, L which are only indicative (we now know that size isn't everything, right!)

Lubrication 💧

Almost all condoms are lubricated with silicone. Be careful if you want to use it on a toy, as silicone is likely to make it porous! Moreover, oil-based lubricants are totally incompatible with condoms. Prefer a silicone or water-based lube. If you're unsure, here's an article that explains how to choose your lubricant. And a little tip, if you want to use a condom for oral sex, we recommend using non-lubricated ones, as the taste and texture of silicone are not great in the mouth...

You now have all the keys to knowing how to choose your condoms, and no more excuses to skip them with your future partners. 😌
