The keys to successful anal penetration

Contrary to popular belief, anal penetration is not painful. It can sometimes feel disconcerting, gold uncomfortable for a few minutes, but should never cause pain. Pain is the signal your body gives you when something is wrong.

So, to avoid pain and to fully enjoy anal play, here are the 3 essential keys:

  • desire: it seems logical, but if the level of arousal is high, it will be easier for the person being penetrated to relax.
  • patience: the sphincters are powerful muscles that only open in one direction, outwards. It takes time to gently coax them open in order to allow penetration.
  • lube: promotes glide, reduces friction, increases comfort. It is essential.

What is the difference between standard lubes and anal lubes?

Anal mucous membranes are very sensitive and do not self-lubricate (even though in practice the rectum produces mucus, but generally in such small quantities that it is not sufficient for lubrication). The lube used must therefore last a long time and protect the rectal walls from friction and irritation. Anal lubes are therefore:

  • or thicker, to create a protective film against the mucous membranes.
  • or enriched with silicone, which has a very powerful lubricating effect.
  • or enriched with soothing active ingredients such as calendula or allantoin.
  • either formulated with relaxing ingredients to promote sphincter dilation.
  • or all 4 at once.

Be aware that while a very good vaginal lube can be used as an anal lube, the reverse is not always true: thick anal lubes used vaginally will reduce friction so much that they will also reduce sensation.
