Fantasies are deep desires. They can be sexual gold no. For example, you can fantasise about a villa in Punta Cana, a celebrity lifestyle, gold even a celebrity outright! But these 3 things have one thing in common (sorry Jacquelin, sorry Jacqueline): there's little chance they'll ever come true. And that's precisely why we call them fantasies. But difficult doesn't mean impossible (typical coach phrase). So let's explore together whether it's worth making these fantasies a reality.

The harder a desire is to fulfil, the more intense the joy

Without diving into the murky (though fascinating) waters of philosophy, fulfilling your desires allows you to feel a sense of satisfaction. If we start from the principle that the harder something is to achieve, the more joy it brings, then fulfilling a fantasy could bring it in high doses. But does that feeling truly last? Is it more intense than the pleasure we get from imagining these sometimes far-fetched things that stimulate our imagination?

The essence of a fantasy is to stay in our heads

For a week, you've been eyeing up the gorgeous person on the beach at Palavas-les-Flots. Their sexy, oiled, Golden body has been driving you wild and you've been spinning increasingly hot scenarios in your head (sounds familiar). On the last day of the holidays — because that's always when it happens — you discover they like you too and you share a taste of passion fruit together (you get the idea, we're not really talking about fruit here...). But then, shortly after the feeling of pleasure and fulfilment, a strange sensation takes hold of you. You're disappointed. It was good, but on reflection you would have preferred it to stay a fantasy. Don't panic, Annick — this feeling is very common and shouldn't stop you from fulfilling your desires! But it does show that it's important to separate the fantasies you truly want to make real from those that simply make you feel good as thoughts.

So, should you fulfil your fantasies gold no? The answer is so subjective and must be treated on a case-by-case basis that the best thing is still to let you tell us in the comments. And why not even talk about it with your partner? 😉
