It's as if the elements wanted to mark with intensity the end of summer frivolities... thinks Henri on the way back from the beach.
Oxmo Puccino's voice rises in the air at the same rhythm as the sea spray that begins to deposit salt residues on his skin.
The injunction to submit his manuscript to his publishing house before the end of summer made him forget the cherry festival, a significant event in Malmousque, this small village in the Bouches-du-Rhône where he was born.
It would be reasonable to pretend he hadn't heard this music he loves... it's August 31st, he has two days left to submit this erotic novel he's been carrying for two years...
And at the same time, the faces of Lorie and Jason met two days earlier come back to him.
Lorie and Jason are a charismatic Berlin couple who came to spend their vacation in his hometown.
"They will be at the cherry festival, certainly, they leave tomorrow," he thinks.
The few messages exchanged following their wild dance on the dilapidated floor of L'Archimède at 2 a.m. leave Henri with a juicy taste of "I want more, maybe even more..."
Juicy lips of Lorie passionately kissing Jason's waiting mouth while diving her piercing gaze into his. Henri replays the scene...It was an invitation to join them, she clearly conveyed to him in a message, afterward.
He didn't dare, and it obsesses him... The strawberry scent of her gloss, her eye twinkling as she stares at him, the sensuality emanating from the union of their bodies and the barely masked call they gave him...
This haunting thought brought him to his cabin without him even realizing it. He jumps in the shower, puts on that lilac linen shirt that reveals a chest tanned by a summer under the sun of the South of France, and takes the same path to go this time to the cherry festival.

8 PM. They see him leaning against a lamppost next to the candy apple stand, rolling a cigarette, focused. As they approach him, Jason whispers in Lorie's ear that they find Henri magnetic, that they feel very attracted to him. Lorie adds to the effect he has on her.
Henri places the cigarette in his mouth, lifts his head, and hugs Jason, then Lorie to greet them…
Quite instinctively, all three of them head towards the swing ride, behind the notorious haunted house, a little away from the crowd.
Henri then notices the ring Jason is wearing on his left middle finger. Highly aesthetic, in silver adorned with a band, it seems to tell a story...
