The circumcision is a surgical procedure that involves partially or completely removing the foreskin (the small skin that covers the glans of the penis). The operation can be performed at any time in life, for religious, health, or even aesthetic reasons. It's a very common practice, but there are still many misconceptions about circumcision and sexuality. So we're going to shed some light on the subject for you. 🤓

What impact on sexual health? ⚕️

The foreskin is a bit like a cap (we'll let you guess what the head is compared to in this metaphor... 😅). It helps protect against the cold, but it needs to be removed and cleaned daily. Sometimes, daily cleaning of the foreskin and glans is not enough, and bacteria accumulate. Hello infections, STDs, and a whole lot of fun stuff. In this case, circumcision is a solution to be at ease (even if it doesn't replace the use of a condom). And as a bonus, it makes cleaning the penis easier. Pure bliss!

What impact on sexual pleasure? 🚀

The foreskin is quite a sensitive part of the penis. Once removed, the glans is left exposed. To protect itself, its skin gradually hardens and becomes rougher (this is called keratinization). The glans may therefore lose sensitivity in some people, but it's not systematic. If the operation takes place in adulthood, it may require a period of readjustment by adjusting the angle, power, or even the speed of stimulation during your solo or group activities. If you need a little help (or rather a toy), we recommend the vibrator or the masturbation sleeve Hector .

We hope this article has answered all your questions about circumcision and its impact on sexuality. And remember, every penis is different, just like all vulvas. So there's no reason to compare and even less to feel self-conscious. Whether circumcised or not, every penis can receive and give pleasure! 🍆

Hello, it's Lou! With a degree in Humanities and Social Sciences, I have been interested in sex topics for a few years. After several trainings, notably with sexologist Mathilde Magnien, Passage du Désir reached out to me to create articles on topics related to sex, love, or relationships. My credo? To open up the conversation on sexual well-being in a light, fun, and caring way. 💜
