Clit suckers: how do they work?

What are contactless sex toys?

Today we're going to look at a technological concept: contactless stimulation. They are generally called "clit suckers", but what exactly does that mean? We explain everything!

Contactless stimulation is a recent development and something that has completely revolutionised clitoral stimulation. Today, there are several brands and several models: womanizer-brand">Womanizer, lelo">Lelo, Satisfyer… and they always promise powerful and often multiple orgasms. It turns out it works. But then, how does it work?

Usually, to stimulate the clitoris, you touch it (and yes, logical!) This creates contact and friction. Which means that when you stimulate the external part of the clitoris, two signals arrive simultaneously at the sensory receptors: the pleasure signal on one side and the friction signal on the other. As stimulation progresses, all these signals increase and intensify.

At some point, pleasure takes over, and just after orgasm, we enter a phase where we can no longer be stimulated — simply because the clitoris is far too sensitive and touch starts to become painful. This is what is called the refractory phase. This phase is caused by the saturation of the clitoris's sensory receptors by contact and friction. And yes, Jamy!

Sensory receptors are highly sensitive: as long as you stimulate them and pleasure is building, everything is fine. But once the orgasm has passed and the pleasure has subsided, all that remains is this feeling of saturation and far too intense friction. As a result, your little sensory receptors are telling you to let it go.

Sometimes, pleasure will build and build and build, and then suddenly you fall into the refractory phase without reaching orgasm. This is simply because the balance between friction and pleasure has not been achieved.

So, the creators of contactless stimulators had a rather clever idea. They figured that since friction was responsible for the refractory phase, it was simply a matter of eliminating it in order to be able to climax multiple times. Not bad!

Concretely, how does it work?

Well, contactless doesn't mean you hold the toy 20cm away and it gives you orgasms (that would be magic). However, contactless stimulators have a hollow tip that you place around the glans of the clitoris. The clitoris is therefore surrounded, as if in a little cocoon, but never in direct contact with the sex toy. Each brand uses its own particular technology. Some work with air suction, others with pressure waves, sonic waves… but the contactless principle is always the same: indirect pressure applied to the clitoral glans, without ever touching it.

Since there is no direct contact, the only signal the sensory receptors receive is the pleasure signal. The receptors therefore don't have to go through the entire balancing phase, and pleasure builds much more quickly! Once orgasm is reached, and since the sensory receptors are not saturated, you can start again very quickly and achieve multiple orgasms very easily!

There you have it, you now know everything about contactless stimulators!

See you soon 💜
