L’after Care

After Care

Last updated on

Sharing an intimate moment can sometimes be emotionally and/or physically demanding. That's why it's important to take some time to come back down after reaching cloud nine. ✨

The concept of aftercare🫶

Originally, the concept of aftercare emerged as a follow-up to a BDSM session. It's a moment that allows you to gently ground yourself after a potentially intense, or even painful session (consensual, of course). This gentle time allows partners to care for one another and communicate about what just happened in their intimacy.

Examples of aftercare🌺

Aftercare isn't just limited to BDSM practices and is just as beneficial after any other sexual activity. Here are a few examples of activities to do together (or more) to soothe bodies and minds. Namaste.

  • Taking a shower or a bath together
  • Lighting candles to create a cosy and relaxing atmosphere
  • Cuddling, stroking, kissing
  • Debriefing on what you liked or didn't
  • Complimenting each other
  • Making a snack
  • Having a nice hot/cold drink
  • Having a Netflix session under the duvet
  • Doing nothing, but together:)

Benefits of aftercare 💖

  • Making the pleasure of an intimate and special moment between partners last
  • Gently brings the pace back down after a physically and/or emotionally intense moment
  • Helps build a healthy relationship around sex
  • Creates a safe space to express preferences, boundaries, etc. freely
  • Strengthens the bond between partners

Makes you want to share a nice bath followed by a Kiri sandwich under the duvet, right? 🙂
