My career path and roles at Passage du Désir
In 2019, Passage du Désir had eight shops, a little-known website and just four employees at its Marseille headquarters. I joined the team as Growth Manager to improve the brand’s visibility and raise its profile.
Driven by changing attitudes and a renewed focus on intimacy among people in France during the COVID lockdowns, the company grew rapidly. To support this period of rapid growth (2019–2023), I occasionally took on other responsibilities: recruitment, finding new offices, identifying products to launch… The variety made every day stimulating.
This growth has brought our values to a wider audience and helped break down taboos around sexuality in all its forms. Both are reasons why I’m committed to Passage du Désir.
Why write for the blog
In 2019, I realised how difficult it was to find information about sexuality in France. With these subjects still taboo in families, sex education at school limited to the bare minimum and books that few people read, most of us turn to the internet and social media.
Faced with the questions our in-store advisers received every day, as well as those sent by private message, one thing became clear: we needed to create educational, engaging content across all our channels, including social media, the Pédagojouie podcast and our blog.
Why did I start writing some of the articles myself? I’m curious by nature and interested in sociology, and every day at Passage du Désir brings something new to learn. Sexuality, relationships, feminism, inclusivity: I learn from conversations with professionals (including sexologists such as Mathilde Magnien), toy makers, content creators and committed colleagues, as well as from specialist reading.
Although I’m not Passage du Désir’s main writer, I do occasionally write articles on subjects I know well. Every piece is, of course, reviewed and approved by the team to ensure the content you read is reliable, thoughtful and accurate.
