How to clean your sex toy?

Having a sex toy is great. Taking care of it and cleaning it so it lasts over time and respects your hygiene — that's even better!

Why clean a sex toy?

First and foremost, for hygiene reasons of course! By cleaning your sex toy after each use, you limit the proliferation of bacteria. This is what you need to reduce the risk of getting an infection because of your favourite toy (that would be a shame...). Cleaning your sex toy will also help its coating maintain its softness, by removing any traces of lube (because, as a little reminder: always use lube with your toys!)

Cleaning a sex toy: how to do it?

You have two options. You can either clean it with soap, or with a special sex toy cleaner.

"If you opt for the first option, choose a Scent / Fragrance-free soap with a neutral pH. Rinse your sex toy under warm water, lather it up and rinse it with clean water. You can also clean and disinfect certain sex toys, such as glass ones, by submerging them in boiling water for a few minutes. Your sex toys will come out perfectly clean and sterilised!"

If you use a special sex toy cleaner, simply spray a few spritzes onto your toy, wait a few minutes and rinse with clean water. 

Please note, if your sex toy is not waterproof, make sure not to submerge the part housing the batteries or the motor.

Whether you use soap, boiling water or a special cleaner, then dry your toy with a clean towel and store it in a dry place, preferably away from light.

While it is very important to clean your sex toy after each use, a quick rinse with water and soap before reusing it does no harm either. This will help remove any dust that may have settled on your toy.
