The best and worst places to have sex

Trying new places can be fun, and it’s one way to spice up your relationship. But not every spot is a good choice. So we asked you on Instagram what you thought. Based on your answers, here’s a (non-exhaustive) list of the best and worst places to have sex.

The best places to have sex

• The bedroom

You can't beat a classic – well, you know what we mean! The bedroom came top of our poll, and we can see why: maximum comfort, soft sheets and the privacy of a room with a door. In short, nothing beats a good old bed, with a few exceptions coming up just below.

• The hallway

What's more exciting than getting your hands on your partner the moment you walk through the door? We love how wild and spontaneous this one is – bonus points if you've got a sturdy table to lean on...

• The sofa

We couldn't leave out the trusty sofa! Two-seater, three-seater, with a chaise longue, upholstered in fabric, velvet or leather (though sticky bums aren't ideal), the sofa is your best friend for a cuddle.:)

The worst places to have sex

• The shower

Because we’re here for you through the good and the bad, we need to talk about shower sex. Opinions in our community are a bit divided, but most of you still tend to hate how it’s slippery where you don’t want it to be and grippy where you do... So unless you’re the lucky owner of a Womanizer Wave, we’d suggest giving it a miss.

• The beach

Seaaa, sex and suuun... Yeah, not so much when the sun is burning your bum and sand is determined to get everywhere. The other reason most of you are put off the beach is hygiene: the sand, the water full of who-knows-what and all the rest tip the scales firmly towards NO WAY!

• The car

To round off our rankings, let's talk about the car. Of course, some cars are better suited than others, but whatever the model, it's hardly ideal. There's the lack of comfort, surfaces that aren't exactly pleasant, and a serious risk if you start fooling around while one of you is driving (absolutely not – we're watching you!).

Take this little list with a pinch of salt, of course: it's entirely subjective and far from exhaustive. Still, it gives you a glimpse of what our community thinks, and it might give you a few ideas too. ;)
